I am teaching at the Department
of Political and Social Sciences,
Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona-Spain) and I am accredited Professor since
2011. And I am also the Director of GRITIM-UPF (Interdisciplinary
Research Group on Immigration) and the Master
Programme on immigration studies. I
am also member of several government advisory boards, and occasional
contributor to media and policy debates.
My main lines of research deal with contemporary issues of liberal democracy in contexts of diversity, especially the relationship between democracy, citizenship and immigration. In particular, within two main fields: Borders/Human Mobility Studies and Diversity/Citizenship studies. I promote interdisciplinary knowledge on immigration, combine theory and case studies, and follow contextual, conceptual and interpretive approaches. My findings always try to contribute to the European approach.
